FEEDING SCHEDULE:
For a 8 week old puppy:
When you bring your new puppy home he/she will be used to being fed 3x per day (7am, 11am, 3pm) of the TLC DOG food. He/She will also be used to taking dry food from hand. I recommend feeding out of hand to build your relationship with your dog. This puts their focus on you and makes training so much more productive.
Around 4-6 months of age you can cut down to feeding 2x's per day(ei: fed morning and evening), still our of your hand. However, amount of food fed will gradually increase based on age, weight and overall body condition. By 10-12 months of age you can cut down to feeding once at bedtime (still our of hand). If using TLC, contact Radiant Goldens for a feeding chart. If using other food, follow the food manufacturer's suggestions for amount of food based on age and weight. We HIGHLY recommend the TLC Dog Food
We have found dehydrated carrots(helps to keep poop firm) and dehydrated beets for overall well-being. We highly recommend Dogzymes Complete. The Dogzymes Complete is added to your puppies food daily from the age of 5 1/2 weeks.
Other items we like to add to our ADULT dog's food:
BEDTIME CRATING:
Do not give puppy food or water past 4pm. Use discretion during hot summer weather. They will need water longer into the day. They will eventually be able to have water "free choice" as they learn bladder control. They should never have food "free choice". Food offered all the time makes training difficult and over-weight dogs.

Other items we like to add to our ADULT dog's food:
- Beef or chicken bone broth - we make our own but you can buy it in the store. Be sure to source it WITHOUT natural flavoring and/or artificial flavoring. Very important for hip and elbow growth the first 2 years of life, and beyond!!!!! They should receive bone broth daily for life!
- Sardines in water or olive oil (DO NOT buy with soybean)
- raw meat (venison, beef)
- Apple Cider Vinegar with the mother(organic only) Can be sourced at your local grocery. Our adults receive 1 TBSP daily.
- Virgin coconut oil
- Astaxanthin (this may make their stool have an orange tone, this is normal)
- Goji berries (no need to rehydrate)
- dehydrated beets (no need to rehydrate)
- dehydrated carrots (no need to rehydrate)
- raw eggs (we only offer local & organically raised - never store bought)
