Do you have requirements for buying one of your puppies? We love our dogs and their puppies very much and want to see them go to homes where they will receive the same amount of love and attention they receive from us. If you or someone you know is unable to be with the dog most of the day then I would encourage you to find another breed or consider finding a friend or loved one who could care for your dog while you are away. Golden's love their people and want to be with them ALL the time. Whether you're off boating, out for a hike, walk in the park, ride in the car, tending to your flowers in the backyard or lounging in the evening watching TV, your golden wants to be with you. Golden Retriever's should not be put out to the backyard and left alone. They will not be happy and become VERY destructive.
How many litters do you have each year?
1-3, we prefer to have more time to dedicate to raising exceptional pet companions. With only 1-3 litters per year this is possible.
Do you evaluate your dogs or use the VOLHARD PUPPY APTITUDE TEST? We are very much hands on breeders. All of our dogs and their puppies are exposed to many people(three generations) throughout the course of the day in our home. He have a very busy and noisy household. Puppies and dogs are loved on and cared for daily from the moment they are born. The Volhard test is great but very subjective. Due to the fact our puppies and dogs live in and are raised in our home some of the tests on Volhard PAT may not be accurate based on our rearing protocols(intensive hands on care). We use the PAT(puppy aptitude test) to address any early signs of fear to specific situations. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us. We evaluate all of our puppies daily from the day they are born until they leave our home to go to yours.
What if I work all day and no one is home, will you sell me a dog? Simple answer, yes but in this situation you will want to make arrangements for someone to come and care for your dog. I can not emphasize enough how much they want to be with people and need human companionship They are devoted and loving but they need love, attention, and human interaction. Please plan accordingly for your puppy.
How much time do you spend with your dogs? We have three generations living under one roof. My parents are retired and we homeschool our four children, so someone is always home with our animals. We live on a 26 acre farm with other animals including a jersey family cow, two mix breed livestock guardian rescue dogs and a cat. We made the decision a long time ago when choosing the life of animal husbandry to always have someone home. Animals need our time, care, and attention. They are a huge responsibility but we absolutely love our animals especially our precious goldens.

Are your dogs show quality?
Absolutely, all of our dogs are carefully chosen with high standards for health, temperament, intelligence and exceptional world class championship pedigree's. Our adult dogs do not have AKC Titles in the USA but their parents and grandparents have numerous foreign Titles overseas.
Are your dogs registered with the AKC?
Yes, all of our dogs are AKC registered.
Do you offer full registration with your puppies?
No, at this time we only offer limited AKC registration for pet companions
Do your dogs have AKC titles? Our adult dogs come from bloodlines that have numerous, mostly overseas, Championship Titles(Russia/Ukraine). Our dogs, that are part of our breeding program, do not have AKC titles in the USA. However, our youngest child is very interested in getting more involved with dog shows. So in the near future we will be pursuing AKC events. Our focus here at Radiant Goldens is selecting healthy dogs with temperaments that would make exceptional family/pet companions. A considerable amount of our time is devoted to being up-to-date on current research affecting the health of our dogs and monitoring the labels of products we use on all our dogs.
Are you puppies good for Therapy or Service work? Absolutely, our adult dogs come from bloodlines that would be a great fit for therapy or service oriented work. Therapy/service dogs can take up to 24 months of training for their specific job (in some cases living with the trainer for 24 months). Finding the right dog and a trainer in your area is paramount to a successful therapy/service dog. Please call us if you are interested in therapy/service dog so we can discuss in detail.
Do you require us to show our puppy/dog?
No, here at Radiant Goldens, our family is dedicated to raising top quality genetically sound exceptional pet companion/therapy/service dogs. Although, our dogs come from long lines of top quality English Goldens Retrievers and would do very well in shows, we do not require this in our contract.
Do you remove dewclaws?
No, we do not. We feel they were put there for a reason and are best left alone. Our dogs have never had any issues with their dew claws. Even our male mixed breed Pyrenees has double dew claws and never had any issues.
What is your policy for vaccinations? We follow a limited vaccination protocol and believe over vaccination is one of the reasons many dogs are sadly being diagnosed with cancer and numerous other health issues. Even the AAHA now recommends a conservative approach to vaccination. We will provide you with research by Dr. Ronald Shultz in your Puppy Pack for you to review. Dr. Ronald Shultz is a well respected veterinarian immunologist. You should also read the work of Dr. Jean Dodd's, HERE. Your 8 week old puppy will be ready for you decide how you would like to care for them along with the advice of your veterinarian. Here is a great article on the subject of vaccines, citing Dr. Ronald Shultz. If a puppy is with us beyond 13 weeks, they will receive their first round of puppy vaccines. (Parvo, Distemper and Adenovirus type 2). (You must speak with your own veterinarian)

We are passionate about health and the well-being of all our dogs and their babies!
- We are very passionate about health especially Debbie who has overcome her own health struggles. She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2013 and told by many doctors that her thyroid was slowing down and she would need to be on prescription drugs for the remainder of her life. Long story short, after countless hours of reading and studying human physiology/anatomy/hormones, she made changes in her diet, supplements and lifestyle giving her body what it needed to heal. By 2016 her thyroid normalized. Doctors, well meaning family/friends, said Debbie was genetically ordained to have hypothyroidism due to family history/genetics. What she learned, what we learned as a family was that diet, supplements and lifestyle is paramount to our overall health. The same holds true to our precious canines. Heathy DNA is important but if you don't take care of your DNA with proper nutrients and exercise any health issue can emerge. Breeders and owners need to work together for the health of our dogs. We, the breeder, provide the strong foundation and the owner follows up with proper diet, supplements and exercise.
